We will explain about the Wireless charging while mentioning cars that are equipped with this cool function! Read on to find out!

Infrared was the first wireless way of transferring files through mobile devices but it still involved a form of connection. Years later, Bluetooth came then it made transferring files and information became fully wireless and contactless. And now, we have a lot of applications and features that can transfer files even between two houses.

The same trend is happening with charging mobile devices: Wireless charging technology! This feature has been running well on mobile devices for 7 years and now, even cars provide the wireless charging feature to mobile devices.

What is wireless charging? How does it work? and What cars have wireless charging? These are the questions I will be answering today. I will cover all your possible questions about it, so there is no need to worry.

How wireless charging works?

Phones with wireless charging just require you to buy a charging pad, place your phone on the charging pad, and without any adapter/pin/plug connected to the charging port of your phone, it just starts charging. You can say that wireless car charging is one of the safest ways to use a phone while driving in Nigeria.

The charging process it uses is called inductive charging. A magnetic field transfers the electrical energy from the charger to the phone's battery, without any risk of electric shock.

What cars have the in-car wireless charging?

Most car manufacturers have been integrating the wireless charging pad in their cars for mobile phones that have the Qi wireless charging standards. Qi is the leading wireless charging company that has approved wireless charging standards.

The risk of using wireless charging in Nigeria

Wireless charging in cars should be used in Nigeria with only cars that have their Air-conditioning System running normally. I say this because Nigeria is a hot place on most afternoons and to reduce the risk of the charging pad from overheating, the A/C must be running well.

Conclusion

Wireless charging in cars is one of the new technologies that have been perfected while many others are still under development; self-driving cars, remote parking, fully electric cars, and the likes. On Naijauto.com, we constantly keep you in the loop with up-to-date car news.

To buy cars with wireless charging, just look at the interior and check for the charging pad. Make sure you place your Qi-standard wireless charging enabled phone and test it if it works. Remember! not all phones have the feature enabled so be sure about this before testing.
