Why is a speed limiting device important for drivers? Speed limiting devices are designed to reduce the number of road accidents that occur on a daily basis. Avoid paying the stipulated N50,000 fine and learn about why speed limiting devices are important.

1. Driving a vehicle without a speed limiting device is a violation subject to N3,000 fine - FRSC

Actually, asides from trying to save your life, installing a speed limiter will save you N3,000. That’s the fine you get to pay when the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) find your vehicle without a speed limiting device.

2. Price of speed limiting devices in Nigeria

You can also buy a unit of speed limiting device with a product name ITMS-NANO from Highway Digital Nigeria Limited – an indigenous manufacturer. It costs  only N25,000 for fitment comprising the cost of the device itself, installation, certificate of fitment and technical fee. Speed limiting devices will help reduce the number of accidents on Nigerian roads.

Other way, you can also purchase speed limiting devices form online store with prices ranging from N25,000 to N35,000, but the sellers might not be accredited vendors. Also, some accredited vendors have a fixed price of N35,000 as well. When you decide to purchase one for your vehicle, you should budget nothing less than N40,000. Also, don’t forget installation fee, the vendors actually charge a separate fee for installation.
