The latest released Volkswagen models in 2019 come with standard features ranging from automatic braking system, touchscreen display, turbocharged engines, more cargo room and lots more. Here is a review of what "the people's car" has got to offer.

In 2016 when the Volkswagen dieselgate scandal was on the lip of auto critics, lots of people taught that the German car manufacturer would slow down sales and launch of its models. But the opposite was quite the case.

They boosted productions and even saw an exponential increase in sales. Every year since then, they have not only launched new models but added new features and upgrades to ensure great user experience and safety of drivers and pedestrians. The latest released Volkswagen models in 2019 are not left out. They come with standard features ranging from automatic braking system, touchscreen display, turbocharged engines, more cargo room and lots more. Here is a Naijauto review of what "People's car" has got to offer.

1. The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta

When they Volkswagen Jetta was launched 40 years ago, it was made to be a conservative vehicle that can only take a few people and a handful of luggage. But after 6 generations, the current generation (the 7th) has been redesigned to have more space, more wheelbase and look quite different from the previous versions.

Still a compact sedan, it goes for about 6 million naira. With an extra million you can get the high end upgrade. The vehicle comes with a 10 inch infotainment system, 8-speed automatic transmission, an option of a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 1.4 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine that can put out 184 ib-feet of torque and 147 horsepower.

This 2019 Volkswagen Jetta runs 40 miles per gallon on the highway and 30 mpg in the city. It's powertrain let it travel for quite some distance. This shows that the vehicle will definitely give its Japanese competitors a good run for their money when it comes to fuel economy.

In the B7 models, the 2019 Volkswagen Passat is the last that will be made.

It comes with a 2 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, with an option of a 3.6 liter V6 engine which puts out almost twice the amount of torque and horsepower the turbocharged engine has. We can only advice you get this if you can't afford a much more upgraded model.

6. The 2019 Volkswagen Beetle

Where Volkswagen keeps making a mistake is trying to bring back the classic Beetle in a more modern manner. Everytime they tried it still doesn't give lovers of the first Beetle the same feeling.

In 2019, the Beetle makes another comeback still looking like the one from over 6 decades ago. Selling from 8 million naira, the 2019 "bug" comes with a 2 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. This even angered critics as they have no option of manual transmission. The latest Volkswagen Beetle 2019 is however faster than previous versions with an output of 184 ib-feet of torque and 174 HP.

Still in its second generation, the Volkswagen Tiguan has always been a conservative vehicle. However, car experts expected major upgrades in the styling, fuel efficiency and cargo space, but that didn't quite happen in the latest version. The 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan though comes in two trim levels and has more torque and horsepower than the latest Volkswagen Passat, but could get more in tech features if more efforts are made by the brand. It sells for about 5 million naira though.

It sells for close to 7 million naira and should only be an option when you can't afford the GTI.
