2020 Ferrari 812 GTS is the convertible version of the 812 Superfast; it is Ferrari's first production, front-engine V-12 convertible, since the year 1969. Twenty years later, with the production of limited infinite headroom that is grand tourers; Ferrari finally manufactured a build-in drop-top grand tourer.
The 812 GTS is indeed a beauty to behold; the upper parts are folded under the decklid, and it retains the silkiness of a fastback with the two box style, and a high tail just like the iconic Ferrari 365 GTB4 Daytona of 1968.
Design & style of 2020 Ferrari 812 GTS
The "GTS" badge above the waistline, together with the mirror changes, and this drop-top is identical to the 812 Superfast. The headlamps are almost exactly as the old F12 Berlinetta's, in terms of size and shape, but they are broader and extend in the direction of the nose, with new engine hood that absorbs air on the sides, and a reconstructive center division bulge round about the front fascia, which is exactly as the coupe.
The frontal design of Ferrari 812 GTS resembles the coupe version
This 812’s design is typical on the rears when compared to the old F12 Berlinetta. All the GTS models maintain most of these features anyways. There is a noticeable beefed-up lower division and a “woopy” character line, which produces a powerful fore fenders and back haunches. Also, there’s a deeper cutlet that becomes more powerful as it progresses toward the back haunches. The GTS is typical of the Superfast from below the waist region. And the cabin has experienced drastic visible modifications.
The triangular shaped quarter windows are replaced by a narrower glass division. Due to the new design of the back cabin division, that is void of a hatch air space and integral C-pillars. The petite vertical window is due to the retractable roof the vehicle possesses, it is a flying sports car with foldable hard-top, beneath the decklid, which Ferrari redesigned for easier operation.
The new wing in the back or reverse diffuser, replaces the vents on the back fenders as the aerodynamics ducts at the back fender is removed, thereby impacting the aerodynamics of the car.
The overall rear design considerably contributes to the car's output
The back of the GTS is typical to that of the coupe, but with a broader spoiler that makes its fascia appear graven within its body, and with smaller taillights like the iconic 288 GTO. A new bumper with a floating diffuser and huge exhaust systems on both sides, a collection of new aerodynamic system, with active wings in the underbody's front, a downforce increased by an aerodynamic by-pass on the back wing to accelerate the car’s output.
Engine & performance of 2020 Ferrari 812 GTS
The car comes with about 800 horsepower on tap, and 6.5-liter V-12 engine under, it can hit up to 60 mph in less than three seconds, with more than 200 mph capacity; thereby making it one of the most powerful grand tourers and a scope for Ferrari that just released its first-ever convertible GT with full production in 50 years.
Just as a trend in the convertible world and existing coupes, the 812 GTS is typically identical to the 812 Superfast from below the waist. That is, it has all the features that make the Superfast unique from previous models, like the F12 Berlinetta.
At the upfront, the same revised bumper is visible, but with a broader intake having a mesh grille in place of the vertical and classic horizontal slats. This grille it possesses also comprises a black apron. Meanwhile, the lower division and splitter are more coercive than the previous ones.
