Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an electric autonomous car at an annual event, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas.
The Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR is just a show car, according to the German brand
The concept is named Vision AVTR which is inspired by the blockbuster Avatar produced by James Cameron in 2009. In fact, the German automaker did collaborate with Cameron to introduce the design of the AVTR, meaning Advanced Vehicle Transformation.
If you were a fan of Avatar, you will see the film's complete setting all over the concept car, as it’s wrapped up in bionic flaps looking like scales to depict how humans and machines can unite and leave peacefully in nature.

The AVTR is a four-seater and glass-sided car with no door, coming in a reptilian shape.

The global design director of Mercedes, Gorden Wagener has this to say about the Avatar-inspired car.
"This is your Banshee Dragon. You see it has that flat scales on the back, and it can actually show some emotions with that.
It's somewhere between a pet and a spaceship."
Sure, this is one hell of an outrageous car! There's no steering wheel since it's autonomous. Looking at the interior, you'll discover its all vegan. And when you slide into the car, you get to control it simply by resting your hand on the control pad seen on the console.
When touched, the car then starts to function and can detect a driver's breath and pulse. The driver gets to select any icon when the hands are lifted up and a menu is being projected directly on to the hands.
Naijauto gathered the floor was made from an Indonesian wood called Karuun. The seat took a cue from the hammock structures used by Avatar characters to sleep in.
