The German automaker, Mercedes recently released the technical details of the power plant to be featured in its coming AMG A 45 hyper-hatch vehicle and it is confirmed to be an all-new 2.0L turbocharged 4-Cylinder engine. This power plant has got 2-staged fuel injection and forged internals, therefore, it produces 500Nm of torque and 415bhp at its “S” most potent guise.

This new Mercedes-AMG A 45 really targets to defeat vehicles like the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrofoglio (173bhp), McLaren Senna (197bhp) and the Audi RS 3 (394bhp) in the global auto market.

A more detailed highlight of features that will make the new 2.0L engine to reach this bhp includes;
- A beefier fuel injection system
- Forged steel crankshaft
- Forged aluminium pistons
- Twin pump cooling
- Twin-scroll turbocharger (feeding 30psi of extra boost into the car’s intake)
- Enlarged valves
Mercedes-AMG A 45 powertrains are developed on the current AMg A 35
The new M 139 AMG’s engine will be offered in the all-new A 45 as a “standard” tune package to produce 480Nm of torque and 382bhp and just like the current Mercedes-AMG A 35, the new A 45 will also have its powerful engine paired with an all-wheel-drive system and dual-clutch transmission setup.
Tobias Moers, the boss of the tuning firm, when speaking about this new development said;
"There was a business case for it, it has been selling and the board has been happy with us.”
