If you are one of the many people wondering when Lexus would produce its own Electric Vehicle (EV), this if for you. The automaker has finally given us a glimpse of its EV called Lexus UX 300e. The ride was unveiled at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition held in China.
The UX 300e is Lexus' first-ever electric vehicle
Before the grand unveiling, the automaker gave the world a teaser of what it had in store with its “Lexus Electrified” campaign, showcasing its bespoke filing. Lexus’ EV debut may be described as “long overdue” by some, given that a host of automakers have jumped on the EV train before now.
Lexus UX 300e standard features
Much details have not been revealed about the ride, but Naijauto can confirm that it is a Crossover. It comes with a 54.3-kWh lithium-ion battery that keeps the car alive for about 248 miles. But this measurement was done with the NEDC circle which is said to be outdated. The figure would most likely be lower if the EPA was used instead. It is capable of producing 201 horsepower as well as 221-pound feet of torque.

For battery capacity, the UX 300e offers 54.3 kWh, and 150 KW in output. While this is not bad, it becomes inadequate when other brands like Audi E-Tron offer 150 KW.
The dashboard has different features to control driving performance
According to the press releases put out by Lexus, the new machine offers comfort in driving, thanks to its driving performance dynamics. There are several features on ground to enable drivers modify their driving to their preferred mode. Lexus ensured that driving noise was reduced to the barest minimum with the presence of an Active Sound Control system to give occupants a pleasant driving experience.
When fully charged, the UX 300e's battery covers 248 miles.
