There's no sign of slowing down for this luxury division of Toyota. That said, the last two years has witnessed some bespoke versions launched by the brand. Here are the latest released Lexus models in 2019!

When Lexus was founded on 1st September 1989, little did people know it would end up being one of the most popular brands in the world. From year 2000 till 2011, it was the best selling luxury brand in the United States of America. The brand owned by Japanese automaker, Toyota, has recorded an average annual sales of about 300,000. This has also encouraged the brand to churn out some of the best SUVs and sedans the world has seen.

Reports have shown that there an average of 300,000 Lexus units sold annually in the US and over half a million sold around the world. This shows there's no sign of slowing down for this luxury division of Toyota. That said, the last two years has witnessed some bespoke versions launched by the brand. Here are the latest Lexus models released in Jan - April 2019, compiled by Naijauto team!

1. The Lexus UX 2019

Graphic and website designers know UX as user experience. This is believed to be what the Japanese brand applied here. The 2019 Lexus UX gives an air of that ideal crossover that suits your basic needs without being all over the place. You must have noticed that midsize sedans are losing their popularity to the ever rising crossover vehicles, and the UX is a great crossover to have at this time.

The 2019 lexus UX is a really amazing upgrade from its previous versions

Although the midsize Lexus RX and the compact Lexus NX may remain the best selling Lexus models ever, but the UX is expected to do as good as the Lexus ES sedan has done so far in the market. It can also go head to head with competitor models like the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

The Lexus UX 2019 comes in the base and hybrid options. The base option is a fuel economy vehicle with CVT transmission, a 2 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine and can put out up to 168 horsepower. This base model of Lexus UX is sold for about 14 million naira.

The hybrid option on the other hand comes as a 4-wheel drive, has two electric motors on the front and rear axles, also has a 2 liter 4 cylinder internal combustion engine and puts out 176 HP. With an extra 2 million, you can get this option. But good enough, both options still come with the NI-MH batteries which lasts for long. The hybrid is the UX250h while the base option is the UX200.

2. The Lexus ES 2019

One of the latest released Lexus models in 2019 is the Lexus ES. First launched 30 years ago, this mid-size sedan has gone from being compact to have more room over the years. It has been able to match up with competition from other brands and at the same time remained quite affordable. It is in its 7th generation and this 2019 model still maintains all the standard features you would find in a latest Lexus car. However it's a much expected upgrade from the previous versions which has 268 HP and 5-speed transmission on the average.

The ES is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission

The 2019 Lexus ES has comes in hybrid and base options, and also costs just around 7 million naira (MSRP, excluding tax, clearance cost, delivery fees...)

3. The Lexus LC 2019

The Lexus LC remains one of the brand's most powerful models. It might not be luxurious but it costs almost 30 million naira for a brand new Lexus LC 2019.

There's another 2019 version being expected that will be known as the LC F. It comes with a 4 liter V8 twin turbocharged engine with an output of 600 HP. But before then, the  Lexus LC 500 and LC 500h are still really good versions. They come with 5 liter V8 and 3.5 liter V6 engines, and put out 471 and 354 HP respectively. The LC 500h comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission that can be boosted, while the LC 500 comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

4. The Lexus RX 2019

The Lexus RX remains one of the most driven Lexus cars in Nigeria. It's also currently the best selling Lexus automobile. It sells over 150,000 units worldwide, annually - more than what the ES and NX sells in a year combined. The 2019 Lexus RX is one of the latest released Lexus models in 2019 that retains some old features from the previous versions. The only visible difference is in the styling. That said, this mid size crossover is one luxury vehicle to purchase. It comes with a 3.5 liter V6 engine and puts out 295 HP. It's available in the RX 450h hybrid and RX 350L options. It doesn't cost so much more than the Lexus UX listed earlier.

5. The Lexus RC 2019

When the Lexus RC was released in 2015, it seemed to be a true definition of luxury coupe. But sales kept dropping and the Lexus brand decided to do a much needed upgrade. The 2019 Lexus RC now has a much needed facelift, better independent rear and front suspensions, torque vectoring and more. The car also comes with Apple Carplay adaptability and an exquisite interior. It also comes in all-wheel and rear wheel drives. The all-wheel drive has a 3.5 liter V6 engine and 260 horsepower while the 2019 RC 300 rear wheel drive comes with a 2 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine that puts out 241 HP.

It's sold brand new for about 19 million naira.

6. The Lexus LX 2019

in the list of latest released Lexus models in 2019, there are three of the models that didn't come with any significant changes. We'll start with the first one, the 2019 Lexus LX. The full size SUV which somewhat looks like a Toyota Landcruiser still maintained it's 8-speed automatic transmission, 383 HP and 5.7 liter v8 engine that was in the previous version. It goes for about 30 million naira but really has nothing special.

The newly released LX is not well estimated as the previous versions

7. The Lexus IS 2019

The 2019 Lexus IS still comes in all-wheel drive and base rear wheel drive options. The 3.5 liter V6 engine that puts out 260 HP in the previous version is maintained here and the rear wheel drive still comes with the 2 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine with a 241 HP output. The only minor difference is that the all-wheel drive now has a 8-speed automatic transmission, but the rear wheel drive maintained the 6-speed as in the predecessor.

8. The Lexus GX 2019

This midsize crossover has consistently risen in sales even with its less cargo room, lulling acceleration and so on. The 2019 version isn't any different. It still gives you a choice of an 8-speed or 6-speed automatic transmission, 4.6 liter V8 turbocharged engine with an output of 301 HP and similar body styling.

All in all its actually a good buy at about 12 million naira for a brand new one. Alongside the other latest released Lexus models in 2019, the Lexus GX 2019 keeps all other standard features you'll find in a luxury Lexus car.

Just a small reminder, you can consider GX470 and GX460 for used car purchase. Both of them are reliable. You can check their prices in this post: Lexus GX470 & GX460 prices
