British auto giant Aston Martin sets a new record as it finally rolls off the very first production unit of its DBX SUV model from the assembly line. This marks the beginning of the automaker’s entry into the currently flourishing SUV segment of the global auto market. While some people might call this a late entry, it is still better to be “late” than to never try at all – isn’t it?

According to reports, the first Aston Martin SUV rolled off the assembly line on Thursday 9th of July 2020 at the company’s facility in South Wales, UK. This facility was announced about 4 years back and has only been used for vehicle testing and virtual development since then. So, this launch of the Aston Martin DBX SUV from the facility also marks the first time any of the automaker’s real product would be produced in that region of the United Kingdom.

For those curious or unaware; the Aston Martin DBX SUV comes with a powerful 4.0-Liters twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that produces 542hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. This high-performance engine also gets the luxury SUV from Zero to 60mph in just 4.3seconds and helps it achieve an overall top speed of 181mph.
Reports claim that the Aston Martin DBX comes with a starting price of ₦73.6 million ($189,900) in the United States. And as for customers who still prefer extra “notch” of luxury, Aston Martin’s bespoke division says it will be creating some special trims of the DBX SUV which will be fully loaded with exclusive options.
