After numerous spy shots and rumors, the wait is now over! The BMW M8 2020 has been unveiled in Coupe form. And not only that, but the BMW M8 Coupe was also revealed in the M8 Coupe Competition version and the M8 Convertible Competition as well.
1. New features in BMW M8 2020 variants
Naijauto gathered that the M8 Coupe and M8 Convertible Competition variant shares the same 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine which is found in the M5 series. It produces 592 hp and a torque of 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). BMW increased the torque of the Coupe and Convertible Competition models to 617 hp.
All of the M8 models are offered on BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission. For the M8 Coupe, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (that's 62 mph) in 3.3 seconds, while the Convertible model does same but in 3.4 seconds. The Competition version tends to augment the acceleration. The Coupe on its own requires 3.2 seconds to be able to hit 62 mph, while the Convertible needs 3.3 seconds.

The AWD system fitted into the M8 lineups has an Active M differential and features two normal driving modes which include 4WD and 4WD Sport. In the event of users deactivating the Dynamic Stability Control, a 2WD mode is being made available which they can select. With the mode, all powers are transmitted via the rear wheels
The M8 models are also fitted with M- specific Adaptive suspension which comprises of electromechanical M Servotronic steering and electronically controlled dampers. Other vital elements of the chassis setup worthy of mention are aluminum transverse strut and steel X-bruce found at the back axle and beefed up anti-roll bar.

All BMW M8 2020 models have marque integrated braking system and it hauls the brake booster, activation and braking control function into something BMW calls control module. Again, drivers have two pedals to choose from. Either they opt for the one which gives a comfortable driving or the other which offers a direct pedal feel.
Talking of their respective cabins, all M8 have standard features which include Driving Assistant, Head-up display, BMW Live Cockpit Professional and Parking Assistant. Mounted on the center console is an Mm mode button which permits drivers (of regular M8 models) to choose either a Road setting or Sport setting.

2. Suggested retail price list of BMW M8 2020 versions
The 2020 BMW M8 Coupe will be selling at $133,000 (~N40.7 million) in the US market. The 2020 BMW M8 Coupe Competition is priced at $146,000 (~N44.5 million) while the 2020 BMW M8 Convertible Competition is sold at $155,000 (~N47.5 million). Both are pricier than the Coupe variant.
Of course if you want a M8 delivered to your house in Nigeria, prepare to pay double those price tags to cover delivery fees, clearing cost and import tax.
