We have seen a lot of small-sized or mid-sized car releases in the past year. Now it's time to take a look at some of the best large SUVs available in the market for 2020. Read on!

Automakers have been on top of their game this year going by the quality of impressive and outstanding vehicles they made available to us in 2018-2019. This reservoir seems never to dry out. From this pool comes a solid mix of classic SUVs, large, midsize and small or compact.

It appeared some badly needed a facelift while others came redesigned and refreshed as Four-wheel, or All-wheel-drive, Front-wheel or back-wheel drivetrain, and a gamut of full-size pick-up trucks for camping and offroading, while others were just perfect for the family.

2019 produced some sweetheart SUVs, such as the sleek 2019 Honda Pilot

When shopping for these SUVs we are always spoilt for choice, so that making a decision is a bit of a challenge. Still, basic factors such as price, performance or fuel consumption must always influence our choices. The good news is that for the 2020 SUV market, several SUVs strike a perfect balance between these major factors. Naijauto is proud to bring you some of the best large SUVs available in the market for 2020.

1. Ford Expedition 2020

The Ford Expedition is a clear combination of flexibility, sophistication, and capability. It comes in four different trim levels, a bid to try to accommodate the wide diversity in the customer base. These trim levels include the XLT, the limited, the king ranch and finally Platinum. Since 2018, the Ford Expedition has continuously rated higher than most other large SUVs. The 2020 Ford Expedition starts at 19.65 million while the prices of the other three trims range from 22.8 million to 26.8 million.

The interior offers every single passenger abundant room and luxury. The accessibility of the third-row seat is outstanding, allowing even adults to move in and out comfortably, without any hassles. It also comes with a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine that produces 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft torque. In the platinum trim, the output can be adjusted to 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft torque.

When it comes to infotainment and connectivity, its system supports Andriod Auto and Apple Car-Play along with Bluetooth Wireless Connectivity Technology. Its navigation system may look a bit old but it comes with a pinch-to-zoom feature which makes interaction with the system much easier.

On the technology and safety side, the 2020 Expedition is equipped with features like the Standard Ford Co-Pilot360 which is an integration of several systems, inclusive of Blind Spot Information system, Lane Keeping Technology, Pre-Collision Warning and Prevention system and Rearview system with Camera assist. In terms of drive technology, the Expedition comes with systems like the Continuously Controlled Damping which acts as a pothole mitigation system, an Independent Front and Rear Suspension, Hill Start and Hill Descent Control and an Intelligent 4WD With Terrain Management System.

The 2020 Kia Telluride is built to impress from every angle and is very attractive and well packaged. It comes with a Captain seat for the middle row with reclining function while the Drivers cockpit is furnished with a 10-inch multimedia touch screen. Kia offers this outstanding vehicle in four trim levels; the LX, S, EX and the SX, in addition to being designed to seat eight persons on its synthetic leather upholstery

The second-row seats in all trim levels come with the ability to fold and slide. Other amazing interior features include the power-adjustable front seats, second-row sunshades, premium leather upholstery in some trims and heated steering wheel.

On the mechanical side of the 2020 Telluride, all trim levels come with 3.8 Liter V6 that offers 291 hp power output and 262 lb-ft torque. The engine combines 8 speed with electronically-controlled automatic transmission. The 2020 Telluride starts at 11.5 million in the LX base trim and goes as high as 15.8 million in the SX trim

3. Mercedes Benz GLS 2020

The Benz GLS is definitely a category King when it comes to performance; this beautiful beast has the competition beat hands down in 2020. Its handling is super commendable as it offers both comfort and agility with its  E-Active Body Control system (an intelligent suspension system) and the 4MATIC variable torque-on-demand AWD system.

On the technology side, the 2020 GLS comes with Advanced Driver Assist Systems, coupled with the AI-enhanced Voice Control multimedia system, the MBUX. This drool-worthy beauty arrives in two trims, the GLS 450 and the GLS 580. The GLS 450 arrives with a 3.0 Liter Inline 6 cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers a solid 362 hp and 369 lb-ft torque, while the GLS 580 blasts on with a 4.0 Liter turbocharged V8 engine that supplies 483 hp and 516 lb-ft torque. Both engines also incorporate EQ Boost and a 48volt electrical system.

The two trims that are GLS 450 and the GLS 580 mean something for everyone

Move inward and the interior of the GLS offers comfortable seats with a standard seating capacity of six/seven persons. The first two rows have more than enough head and legroom to ensure relaxation. Heated and power-adjustable front seats are made available for all trims as is the synthetic leather upholstery. Other eye-catching upgrades include ventilated first and second-row seats, heated steering wheel, heated first and second-row armrest.

The only thing that seems to bring the superb GLS rating down a notch could be its somewhat complicated infotainment system. However, the 2020 GLS is generally a solid option and the GLS 450 starts at 27.2 million while the GLS 580 begins at 35.5 million.

4. Chevrolet Suburban 2020

The Chevy Suburban comes with decent handling and enough engine power. Nevertheless, it still ranks in the middle of the list as a result of its poor ride quality. It is offered in three major trims: the LS, LT and the Premium, with an interior that can seat up to 8 persons as is the case in the LS and LT trims. The 2020 Chevrolet Suburban confidently boasts being the most spacious in the SUV family as it offers about 121.7 cubic feet of space when the second and third rows are folded.

5.3-liter v8 engine is standard for the suburban and produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and couples this with a six-speed automatic transmission that is standard in all three trims. However, an optional 10-speed automatic transmission can be included for the Premium trim. For the Premier trim an optional 6.2-liter V8 engine is available, which offers 420 hp and 460 lb-ft torque.

The Chevrolet Suburban has one of the highest base prices on the list at 18.4 million while the higher trims are valued from 20.23 million and 25.7 million.

5. Lincoln Navigator 2020

The navigator's confident powertrain and phenomenal quiet manners make it the ride of choice for full-size SUV lovers. Its three trim levels, the base, the reserve and the black label spice up the whole navigator package, making the SUV much more appealing. Its interior has been upscaled with amazing upgrades like the massaging front seats with 24 or 30-way power adjustment and heated steering. The front seats are ventilated and are built with beautiful leather upholstery and heated seats in both of its rows.

The 2020 Navigator comes with only one engine option, the 3.5- liter V6, which generates 450 hp and 510 lb-ft torque. The engine combines a 10-speed automatic transmission and a Rear-Wheel Drive system to ensure you have the perfect Lincoln experience. However, 10-speed automatic transmission sometimes produces rough downshift when speed becomes too low. But still, the engine produces sufficient power to tow bulky loads and move this large SUV with every level of confidence.

2020 Navigator's 5 models come at varying levels of packaging and price. The prices range from 27.5 million in the standard base model to 36.24 million in the Black Label L model.
