Even though we have seen quite a good number of outstanding Bentley vehicles in the past, yet the brand still never ceases to amaze us here at Naijauto.com. This time around they literally brought out “a pearl”. Yes, they did. And after reading about this new Bentayga SUV you will accept that it portrays exactly the name it has been given.
In recent updates we got, we could see that Bentley has just revealed its new SUV which is a special-edition Bentley Bentayga that is said to have been inspired by Arabian Gulf’s pearl diving heritage.
The car is promoted as being brought out of ocean in a fish village
This new SUV is called the “Bentayga Mulliner Pearl of the Gulf”, which has been astonishingly handcrafted by the Mulliner coachbuilding department of Bentley. Just like most of the special-edition cars, the total of just 5 units of this high-riding, high-powered SUV will be built only.
Each one of these 5 units will be featuring a bespoke interior that will be designed to actually celebrate the entire pearl diving industry that has hugely supported the region for a long period of time (centuries).
This is the new Bentagya Mulliner Pearl of the Gulf – a true pearl indeed
For example, the Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus dashboard trim should come with a kind of dhow boat scene that was once a familiar sight to every pearl diver on the Gulf region’s waters. Another extra nod giving to the industry in this SUV is a marquetry dhow which is also going to be inlaid with the Mother of pearl itself. That’s what you can do if you have such a company like Bentley!
The harmony in every inch of its interior deco
The seats of the new SUV are however wrapped in a type of linen-coloured hide that comes with secondary trim with a shade of grey normally called “Brunel” that adorns the dashboard’s top area as well as the steering wheel edges. Still, in the bid to deeply evoke the true colours of pearls, Bentley is making the whole of the cabin to feature contrasts stitching in brown and grey, while appearances of gold thread embroidery will also be featured. To top it up, the currently familiar Bentley Breitling for cock will be fitted between the air vents that are directly above the touchscreen display and will still feature on its face, the mother of pearl.

Also due to the fact that Gulf pearls are still among the most valuable and rarest around the world, this coming Bentley Bentayga Mulliner Pearl of the Gulf will get its own special secure storage facilities. In the interior of this SUV, fingerprint sensor technology has also been added to a minimal size, secure aluminium storage box found within the vehicle’s cabin where valuables can be easily kept and locked away from “light-fingered” valets /parking staff or any other prying eyes.
Major impressive modifications have been carried out on this new SUV by Mulliner at the Crewe headquarters of Bentley but it is still a plain fact that this vehicle is a Bentayga underneath originally. What this means for the new Pearl of the Gulf is that it will absolutely still have the same styling as the Bentayga we know and it will also feature the same onboard technology such as the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 21-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic roof.
The picture was hand-crafted with finest materials
The Bentley (trademark) grille comes by default and behind it is the recent W12 engine which is the same as featured in other top-class Bentaygas as well. This engine produces a 600bhp and it’s a 6.0L engine which normally gets the massive 4x4 SUV accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds together with a featured top speed of 301 Km/h (187 mph).
Even though Bentley is yet to disclose the precise asking price for this new Mulliner Pearl of the Gulf SUV, it is expected that each of the five units that will be produced should be significantly costlier than the standard Bentayga versions.
