The 2021 Kia Sorento is finally here after a long and engaging promotion. It offers exciting features that make it deserving of being Kia's flagship model!

Going all out in promoting the 2021 Kia Sorento ahead of its forthcoming debut, one could deduce that the model had so much in the offing. Now that it is finally here, that prediction proves to be true.

The Sorento is a fourth-generation Sports Utility Vehicle

New models are usually slightly different from their predecessors, but the 2021 Sorento begs to differ as it is different by a large margin. Kia was not keen on creating a lookalike model of the 2020 Sorento. This is evident in the totally different exterior the new model wears. By the looks of it, we can say that the 2021 Sorento is worthy of being Kia’s flagship model.

According to the designers of the Sorento, they recognized the boldness of the previous Sorento models and aimed to redefine that boldness. The endgame of this is an effortless combination of ruggedness and elegance. The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) proudly is adorned with Kia’s Tiger Nose peculiar grille, and the revamped headlights shine brighter in their tiger-eyed LED form.

The Sorento's side view showcases its extra inches

A side view of the Sorento showcases its larger body with additional 10mm. The overhangs in the front and rear areas are noticeably shorter.

The changes continue in the 2021 Sorento’s interior. The digital display is large, measuring 12.3 inches. Its touchscreen-enabled infotainment system follows closely in size with 10.25 inches. There are highly responsive buttons on both sides of the system for feedback.

The cabin materials have also been improved on with leather upholstery and metallic trim now part of the package.

The cabin boasts of high-end car technology

Kia offers different powertrains for different markets where the Sorento will be available. Some of the powertrains include a four-cylinder diesel engine of 2.2 liters, discharging 198 horsepower and 324-pound feet of torque. There is a hybrid option powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine of 1.6 liters and an electric motor of 44.2kW as well as a polymer battery of 1.49 kWh.

Kia goes big on safety with the new Sorento – offering safety features such as Forward Collision-avoidance Assist, Surround View Monitor, Blind-spot View Monitor, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Highway Driving Assist and a host of others.
