Volkswagen has unveiled the 2020 Volkswagen ID.4 EV SUV, a new addition to its ID lineup. It's the second model to its all-electric ID segment!

Electric Vehicles (EV) continue to gain momentum as the world moves from gas-powered engines in a bid to stop environmental pollution. Top automaker Volkswagen is part of the movement as it introduces its second vehicle to join its ID segment of all-electric cars – the 2020 Volkswagen ID.4 EV. The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) takes inspiration from an initial concept, the ID. Crozz EV SUV, and it is described as its production model.

There are similarities between the ID.4 and ID.3 hatchback in terms of styling. These similarities are visible in features including the big headlamps, fluid bodywork and slim grille. The ID.4 offers some features that are distinctive including kinked window lines and wide haunches that score good points in its appearance.

Moving all the way to the rear area, there is a roofline connected to a big spoiler, and the taillamps are set up with large LED lights.

Naijauto cannot say much about the car’s interior as it has not been unveiled to the public yet, but there are high chances that it will look like that of the ID.3 hatchback. With that in mind, we will not be surprised if Volkswagen keeps it simple but stylish with the necessary car technology for comfort.

As an EV, the battery capacity is very important. An image of the ID.4’s battery has not been released yet, but the automaker says that it will get up to 500km in range when fully charged. It is said that the battery will be designed after the MEB EV, and will be positioned on the ground. Buyers will first get a rear-drive variant, and much later, they will get an AWD dual-motor.

The price of the 2020 Volkswagen ID.4 EV has not been announced yet.
