The 2020 Yaris Supermini is of the model's fourth generation
The Yaris is not a new model in Toyota’s line up. The latest model is a member of its fourth generation. If claims by the Japanese brand holds water, this might be the safest compact car the world has seen yet.

The majority of superminis have adopted a bigger size over time, but not the Yaris. Instead, it has undergone a length reduction of 5mm. One part increased is the wheelbase with an additional 50mm.

Another area that was adjusted in this model of the Yaris is the height. It received a 44mm reduction. Despite this, headroom is not compromised. With additional 50mm, users get to enjoy a wider vehicle. The cabin is very spacious, creating room for free body movements. Previous models of the Yaris only provided a hybrid powertrain as an option. But this model has an exclusive hybrid powertrain measuring l.5 liters for the UK market. It offers better responsiveness compared to its predecessor.
Battery of the hybrid is lithium-on; hence, output is increased and acceleration is quicker. In terms of weight, battery of this model is lighter by 27%. Other markets may get the latest Yaris in petrol engines, but they will account for only 20% of the model as it will be dominated by the hybrid powertrain.

2020 Toyota Yaris styling changes
On the exterior, the Yaris looks more confident than ever. The grille is larger. Position of the A-pillar was changed, taking it backwards. This accounts for an increased length of the bonnet. Cockpit of the Yaris was revamped with features synonymous with cars that are bigger. It also offers a center airbag to protect passengers in the event of an accident.
The Yaris has a reduced length of 5mm from its predecessor
Interior of the Yaris is without clutter. There is no obstruction of body movements. The driver gets to concentrate on the road without being distracted by so much going on in the design. Materials used in the design are of high class. Features such as a tender instrument panel, dual digital TFT meters, bigger storage space and larger console make it the preferred option to its predecessor.
