Recently, at the 48th Barrett-Jackson annual Scottsdale auction, the first model of the 2020 Toyota Supra which just rolled off the production line was sold for $2.1m (₦763million).

This was the sold-out $2.1m (₦763m) first production 2020 Toyota GR Supra

This auctioned car was one of the 1500 first launch editions that starts at a bid price of $56,180 (₦20m) and it is painted in matte gray color. It also came with an engine cover that has been personally signed by Akio Toyoda, the Toyota CEO himself. Since the bid was closed at $2.1m, this simply means that the winning bidder is actually acquiring this first-ever 2020 Toyota Supra Sportscar at a price 38 times higher.

There some interesting bonuses that came with the winning bid though, these bonuses were stated as follow;

“A custom racing suit, two VIP passes to the Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR race in Richmond, and a chance to drive the pace car with NASCAR driver and commentator Michael Waltrip”

This new 2020 Toyota Supra Sportscar has been developed in partnership with Toyota’s Gazoo Racing Division and Germany’s BMW, and when studied closely, the car’s engineering seems to be sharing many things with the 2019 BMW Z4 that is upcoming.
