Amidst the ongoing 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, the German automaker – Mercedes-Benz unveiled its all-new 2020 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 (4Matic) SUV and it was just mind-boggling.
This new SUV is the latest addition now to the popular Maybach range and also the first-ever mass-production Mercedes-Maybach luxury SUV. The popular Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet is just a limited-edition SUV that wears the luxury brand’s badge.
This Maybach GLS 600 was actually unveiled just one day after the launch of Aston Martin DBX
2020 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 – Exterior and Interior
Starting with the exterior, the huge Maybach grille is the first noticeable feature followed by the Mercedes-Benz star and Maybach logo on the hood of the SUV.
This SUV is provided in two-tone paint options for buyers and also with either 23-inches or 22-inches wheels.
On opening the rear-doors of this SUV, you get a graceful exit or entry as it will lower and swing-out a beautifully illuminated running board by the side.
When you hop inside this new 2020 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 SUV, you get to see its cool standard interior features like the ventilated and heated massage seats, a 7-inch tablet, and a panoramic (electronic) sliding sunroof that has an opaque roller blind.

The interior of the 2020 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 luxury SUV literally feels like that of a private jet
This new luxury SUV comes with a separate AC system that has extra vents and also cooled/heated cup holders and a wireless charging station. The rear-seat options have choices of a refrigerator, folding table and a fixed centre console.
Other standard features inside this luxury SUV include:
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- 64-color Ambient lighting system
- 9 USB ports
- Burmester stereo sound system
2020 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 – Under the hood
This new SUV is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that outputs 550hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. This engine is then paired with a 48V electrical system that gives it an additional 21hp and a noticeable 184 lb-ft of torque to its wheels.
This hybrid powertrain pushes the AWD GLS 600 SUV from a 0 to 60mp in just 4.8seconds and gives it an overall 130mph electronically limited top speed.
