Recently, many renowned automakers like Toyota made the headlines here on Naijauto by earning the popular IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating for their new vehicles. This is due to the fact that this rating is one that requires rigorous tests of a vehicle’s safety features and cannot be easily compromised or given.
Kia seems to have taken all of these into the mind by stepping up its newly redesigned 2020 Kia Soul subcompact crossover to meet up with all of the IIHS standards and also pass all of the severe crash tests to earn the IIHS highest Top Safety Pick+ rating.

This new 2020 Soul subcompact crossover got the same test result as the previous model in most of the crash test categories but performed better during the small overlap “passenger-side” crash test and also in the forward collision prevention system test. It was able to put the car to a complete halt at speeds as high as 25mph just before any collision.
Almost all aspects of 2020 Kia Soul are rated "Good" except for halogen headlights and childseat
It should be however noted that;
- Emergency braking only comes with the EX, GT-Line and S models
- Pedestrian detection also comes only as standard on the 2020 Kia Soul turbocharged GTLine model
- LED headlights only come with higher trims while the lower ones still come with the halogen headlights
