BMW has continuously found ways to remain strong and within the top ranks. The company is gradually getting back its groove as is made obvious with her current development of the 3 series. One of BMWs most successful offering remains the X5 and recently her bigger cousin the X7. The 2019 versions of the two SUVs both came with two engine types, the 40i and 50i engines.

However, BMW is bringing the M50i engine to both BMW X5 and BMW X7 SUVs for their 2020 offerings which will be going into production later in the year, precisely August. Naijauto brings all the best details around these two models!

1. The power of new M50i engine on 2020 BMW X5 & X7

The 50i engine used in the 2019 X5 and X7 obviously delivered some solid performances. The 50i engines in both X5 and X7 were both twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine, delivering a solid 456 hp, 479 lb-ft torque. With the X5 xDrive50i accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.

However, M50i engine upgrade for the upcoming 2020 BMW X5 and 2020 BMW X7 will deliver even better performances as is clearly obvious with the engines exploit with the M850i and the M350i. The 2020 X5 and X7 which both come with the M50i engines, will both deliver 523 hp and 553 lb-ft torque, showing a 14.7% and 11.3% increases in power and torque respectively over the 50i model engine used in the 2019 X5 and X7. These figures will represent a 67 hp increase in power and 74 lb-ft bump in torque over the 50i engine.
