Same top speed but lower price, can 2020 Audi RS Q8 defeat Lamborghini Urus?

The 2020 Audi RS Q8 has just made its debut and it's currently the fastest SUV as it comes with a top speed of the Lamborghini Urus SUV. However, the price tag of this Audi newbie is just two-thirds of the senior Urus. See its pics and specs here!

2020 Audi RS Q8 – Engine and Speed

The 2020 Audi RS Q8 has already taken up the title of the “fastest SUV at the Nürburgring” as it currently holds a lap time record of 7:42.253. This full-fledged Audi RS version of the flagship SUV has now become the most powerful and fastest among the Audi “Q” range. It has is also now the third Audi RS SUV that the German automaker will be unveiling in just this year 2019 alone after the 2020 RS Q3 (standard) and RS Q3 (Sportback) models.

Just like the 2020 RS7 Sportback and RS6 Avant, this new 2020 Audi RS Q8 SUV also comes with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V-8 gasoline engine that has a mild-hybrid system which outputs 592hp combined and 590lb-ft of torque.

The 8-cylinder muscle of this new RS Q8 SUV enables it to accelerate from 0-60mph in a staggering 3.8seconds which now makes it a big competitor with the Lamborghini Urus SUV when it comes to speed. It also records a zero to 124mph sprint in just 13.7seconds – which is 0.9seconds faster than the Urus SUV while the overall top speed of the 2020 Audi RS Q8 is rated as an electronically controlled 189.5mph.

2020 Audi RS Q8 – Exterior and Interior

This Audi Q8 SUV has a very attractive coupe-like swoopy roofline and overall exterior design but this new “RS” version even kicked things up by featuring huge air intakes at the front and a pair of oval-shaped exhaust tips.

The 2020 Audi RS Q8 comes with 22-inch wheels that are wrapped by Audi’s 295/40 largest tires ever seen on the automaker’s standard production vehicle. Nonetheless, the vehicle’s rims still have an even bigger 23-inch set that Audi provides in different exclusive colours for this RS Q8 only.

Right behind the new RS Q8 gigantic alloy wheels, are the optional beautiful ceramic brakes that provide superior stopping power with its huge 440mm (17.3inches) discs at the front and 370mm (14.6inches) at the rear.

The exterior of the SUV’s “RS model” features a High-gloss black exterior that separates it from the standard Q8 version and it is also equipped with AWD steering system.

On the inside; this new 2020 Audi RS Q8 SUV comes fitted with a set of sport seats that are covered in pure black leather with Alcantara with an adornment of the embossed Audi RS logo. There is also an option for RS sport seats covered in pure Valcona leather with a beautiful honeycomb pattern that gives a cool “sportier” vibe.

The interior of the 2020 RS Q8 also features a digital instrument cluster that has RS-specific displays by standard and options for added heads-up display with many reserved graphics.

  New Audi RS Q8 2020 - is this even better than a Lamborghini Urus?

Sales of this 2020 Audi RS Q8 should kick off in the domestic German market at a whopping ₦51million (€127,000) while the SUV is expected to hit European markets by the year 2020’s first quarter. In the meantime, a Lamborghini Urus has a starting price of around ₦72 million.
