Did you know that both the convertible and Coupe of the Bentley Continental GT has received 4.0L twin-turbocharged engine that gives 542bhp? Get the gist here!

This year 2019 just keeps getting hot and hotter for us here at Naijauto.com as we keep seeing various innovations, rebranding, additions, and reviving of various vehicle models from all the major auto brands worldwide.

Recently, Bentley just revealed both the Convertible and Coupe forms of its Continental GT V8 while claiming that it will surely be the “most agile” version of the renowned grand tourer that has ever been produced till date.

This new model is getting a significant power boost of 42bhp over the initial Continental GT V8 with the swapping out of the old GT’s 6.0L W12 engine of 664bhp and replaced with a new 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 523bhp. What a difference, huh?

This new powertrain also produces a 568 pound-feet of torque thereby giving the coupe variant an acceleration of 0 to 62 mph in just 4 seconds and a 198-mph top speed. The convertible version, on the other hand, gets an acceleration of 0 to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds and a similar top speed rating with the coupe version. Both variants feature an 8-speed automatic transmission, with really nice quad sports exhausts which Bentley claims that they produce a “Characterful V8 burble”.

Look at those alloy wheels, are you excited?

The brand also claims that this new model Continental GT V8 which of course is lighter than the previous W12 engine featured version that was launched in 2018, will be “lively and engaging” to drive.

They claim that it will have over 500 miles of touring range.

Also, the new 2019 Bentley Continental GT V8’s ride and handling have been said to be tweaked for the powerful new V8 engine, with some lightweight anti-roll bars positioned at the rear and front. It is also specified that the Bentley’s Dynamic Ride System of adaptive chassis control will be made available as an option for interested buyers.

Just like the old Continental GT, this new 2019 model remains a 4-wheel-drive as well, and by standard option, the system sends power to the vehicle’s rear wheels for maximum efficiency in its movement. Bentley sure understands the importance of good handling and movement of a high-end car especially one with such a cost like this 2019 GT.

The 2019 Continental GT V8 models are sort of immediately identifiable by their quad exhausts as well as their V8 badges which are positioned on the front wings of the car. By standard, the new GT sits on a set of 20-inch wheels and there are options that range up to 22-inch wheels versions.

Bentley has indeed done a lot of work to this new 2019 GT models to raise customer attention and revive the model.

When it comes to the interior of the new GT model, it features beautiful leather seats that are offered in a monotone sort of colour split, an all-new walnut fascia – although other woods are available as options to choose from – and it also features a ten-speaker Bentley Audio system that is just outstanding. One could even throw a mini in-car birthday party with this type of fantastic stereo/audio system and speakers that are featured.

The new 2019 Bentley Continental GT V8 is expected to hit the market later this year in the United States, with subsequent deliveries to various parts of the world including the United Kingdom starting by early 2020 as planned.

Bentley is however yet to confirm the actual pricing for this new GT models, but indications are clear that it will likely be cheaper and more affordable than the £159,100 (₦76 million) starting price tag that came with the old W12 engine GT models.
