Bentley Bentayga is making a good case for itself as an SUV with an unbeatable speed. Making its SUV launch in 2016, the ride had traces of other automakers’ strengths. It combined the dynamism of the Porsche Cayenne, capabilities of the Range Rover and the cossetting nature of the Continental GT.
The Bentayga Speed boasts of high on-road and off-road performance
Perhaps the Bentayga is not the best-looking SUV in appearance, but it makes up for what it lacks in looks in channeling facets of all three auto brands into its own. First on the Bentayga’s engine offering was a 608hp W12. While users were still basking in its euphoria, they received the fabulous 435hp V8, powered by diesel, barely one year after.
The V8 did not last for that long though. It was replaced with a 462hp offering both petrol and electric variants. The 608hp W 12 was improved on in terms of speed. It is in the same league as both the latest Flying Spur and Conti GT, sharing the same 635hp 6.0-liter W12. In 3.9 seconds, it does 62mph.
2019 Bentley Bentayga Speed - a makeover of Bentley flagship model
The Bentayga’s flagship model received a makeover this year, offering a lot more to users. Some of its enhanced front features include a darkened grille, side skirts, smoked headlights, arch-filling 22-inch alloy and a rear spoiler. On the inside, features changed include Speed badges, Alcantara and quilted leather and optional carbon fiber.
The interior is designed with carbon fiber
Bentley dominated the high-end luxury SUV market three years back. But today, it is a different story. Not only have other automakers come into the market, they are also putting up fierce competition.
Ferrari has its Purosangue 4×4 in the works, set to be unveiled in 2022. Rolls-Royce has its Cullinan which offers great driving experience, and Lamborghini has its Urus known for its performance. Indeed, these cars are strong contenders in the SUV segment, but they do not come close to the Bentley Bentayga in speed.
