Just yesterday, 4th of December, 2019, a group of EFCC operatives, Ibadan zonal office, stormed a possible hideout for internet fraudsters known as yahoo-boys in Lagos. Arrests were made on their ring leader and 26 others at a Lagos hotel.
The suspected 26 internet fraudsters were paraded with their kingpin, alongside 3 recovered vehicles
According to the agency, Rasaq Balogun, the fraud kingpin, was the main target of the operatives, whose illicit activities have dominated the intelligence report from the just arrested police spies while carrying out a raid on their base at Abeokuta, Ogun State. From what we learnt, the kingpin of internet fraud in that base, Balogun, has recruited many young men to carry out these frauds via the internet.
The operatives also apprehended other suspected internet fraudsters at his residence in Beckley Estate, Lagos State. The invasion of Modzat Hotel at Abule-Egba, Lagos, which according to report belongs to him, was based on information that many young men are being harboured in that hotel with no specific mission or means of livelihood.

Rasaq Balogun and other arrested internet fraudster, whose ages range from 18 to 35 years, were brought down to the Ibadan Zonal office of the commission for further questioning.
3 vehicles were recovered from the suspect alongside charms, illegal documents, mobile phones and laptops. According to the agency, those indicted will be charged to court soon after the conclusion of their investigations.
