While following up the progress of Aliko Dangote’s refinery project, Naijauto found an interesting update on Monday 29th of July 2019 as Sinopec, the leading chemical and energy company in China shared via its Twitter handle; photos of the largest atmospheric tower in the world that it has built for Dangote’s refinery, leaving China for Nigeria.

This gigantic tower is now headed for Lagos, Nigeria where it will be eventually installed at the biggest single-train facility in the world – Aliko Dangote’s 32.5 million tonnes per year refinery.
Aliko Dangote is currently the richest man in Africa and his petrochemical complex/oil refinery is worth an estimated ₦3.6 trillion ($10 billion). The refinery is situated in Lekki-Lagos at the OKLNG (Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas) free trade zone.

Dangote’s new refinery is expected to have a daily production of about 600,000 barrels when it begins operation and Aliko Dangote himself mentioned that the refinery will be raking in an estimated ₦9.4 trillion ($26.2 billion) annually for Nigeria.
