If you’re still feeling appalled by the incident happening in June 2015 that witnessed a Sheridan Sergeant’s patrol SUV was swallowed by a sinkhole, then you may be left speechless to learn that another SUV just suffered the same destiny at the same spot. This time it was an unfortunate Toyota RAV4 in Nigeria.
However, its owner, Ashley Marisch, was lucky enough to escape from the vehicle with the help of a passer-by.

She described a man came over, asking to get her out of her car immediately. She didn’t expect it was a sinkhole, then the car’s right side gradually got down and she could manage to get out. She cited it was absolutely scary and surreal and kept thinking the man who joined his hands getting her out of trouble.
After 4 hours of attempting to get the car out of the sinkhole, a crane successfully emptied the 20-feet-deep hole which is covered with debris and mud. Later, Sheridan police uploaded a photo of the Toyota RAV4 being submerged under about 15-20 feet.
Sheridan City Manager said 15 feet of compact earth, gravel and dirt supposed to support the road had been washed away by a damaged pipe below. And with heavy vehicles running over the area, it soon collapsed into the sinkhole.

The local police blocked both the road’s direction so that the crews could examine the damage and later found out the gas line might rupture as well.
Ultimately, they opened a lane to slowly regenerate the traffic flow while the repair was being still in process.
China also witnessed the same incident on October 1, 2017 which occurred to a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
