The Abeokuta Federal High Court in Ogun State has convicted three persons who were accused of vandalizing the official patrol vehicle belonging to the customs on September 22, 2017.
Naijauto gathered that the vandalized custom patrol van was attached to Team 'H' Roving 'A' anti-smuggling patrol team stationed at Ashipa forest.
The accused persons namely Ayinde Adebayo, Paul Ayinla, and Yakubu Olamide were all found guilty of the charge brought against them.
The Ogun state Customs Area Controller, Comp. Micheal Agbara revealed this at their Idiroko border office.
He said,
"While the Command is unrelenting in pursuing other cases including the murder of one of its personnel (CA I Hamisu Sani) on the 6th of January, 2019 with the major suspect involved in the case now in custody, this will serve as a deterrent to other unscrupulous members of the society who might harbor the intention of harassing Security Agents while discharging their lawful duties.
Moreover, a notorious smuggler based in Owode have been arrested and charged to a Federal High Court for smuggling of rice and presently on remand cooling his feet in Ikoyi Prison pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions."

The vandalized patrol vehicle belonging to Ogun State Customs
Comptroller Agbara, on the other hand, applauded the sister agencies, eminent personalities, heads of traditional institutions, opinion leaders and law-abiding citizens for their firm support to the commission in the state.
