The story of a recently abducted reporter now joins the long list of people that have been recently kidnapped by unknown gunmen in the eastern part of the country. According to traffic reports reaching us, some unknown gunmen kidnapped the reporter, stole his car and are even asking for ₦10 million as ransom. The gunmen kidnapped Mr Chucks Onuoha, a Newspaper reporter from his country home in Umungasi town in Ohuhu, Abia State. The shocking incident happened on Tuesday, 14th of June 2022. The gunmen have since made notable contact with his family.

It was further revealed by one of his family members that the man in question was forcefully taken away from his residence around 10 pm after the hoodlums scaled his fence. Onuoha is the Editor-in-Chief of All Facts Newspaper and one could possibly imagine why he was targeted by these kidnappers. The family source revealed that the vehicle belonging to the victim was also taken away alongside him by these gunmen. The family members of the abducted reporter have been contacted by the kidnappers and a ransom of ten million Naira was requested for his release. At the time of this report, there hasn’t been any information on whether the ransom has been paid or not to secure his freedom.

Mr Suleiman Anyalewaechi, who is the President-General of the community, confirmed this story. According to him, his secretary informed him that some armed men had abducted Onuoha from his home. He disclosed that the details of the unfortunate event were unknown to everyone until the hoodlums made their demands from the family. Geoffrey Ogbonna, the Police Public Relations Officer in Abia State, stated that the command is yet to be notified about the incident officially.
