New press reports have it that some unknown gunmen recently unleashed chaos in Anambra State after they stormed the community with guns and destroyed several vehicles belonging to different individuals. Media reports claim that the unknown gunmen had the Biafran flag in their hands and kept hoisting it while disrupting the peace of the public.

According to press reports, this disturbing incident occurred on Thursday 15th of April at the Abagana community in Njikoka LGA, Anambra State. A report by ABS (Anambra Broadcasting Service) stated that the unknown gunmen particularly went to the banking hall of First Bank PLC in Abagana where they began to shoot into the air sporadically. All passersby and bank customers reportedly ran helter-skelter as they seek safety from the flying bullets and unknown gunmen.

The ABS report also disclosed that the gunmen were about ten in number and they came in a black-painted Honda Pilot SUV. The reports narrated that the gunmen first hoisted the Biafran flag while at the gate of First Bank PLC in Abagana and later set ablaze a Nissan Pathfinder SUV which carried a Lagos plate number (UR 640 KJA). Similarly, the reports also claim that they also broke the windows of another Honda vehicle that has FST 456 AC as its plate number and was parked inside the banking hall’s premises. As of the time of writing this report, there is no record of casualty and several media sources claim that commercial activities in the area are gradually returning back to normal.
