Two different trucks suspected to have driven against traffic kills 2 people while leaving 2 others injured in a recent accident in Ogbomoso.

It is so disheartening to get reports of two horrific accidents that reportedly occurred during the early hours of Monday 6th of April 2020 in Ogbomoso, Oyo state. Each of the accidents was believed to have been caused by heavy-duty trucks being driven against traffic.

According to press reports, these accidents happened separately along the same Ogbomo-Igbeti Road in Oyo state. A passerby and one motorcyclist were recorded to have lost their lives in these accidents while two other persons were severely injured.

How did these accidents happen?

Reports have it that the first accident occurred when a trailer allegedly driving against traffic collided with a motorcycle at Odo Oru because of the deplorable condition of the road. Witnesses say that the motorcyclist died right on the spot while two other people sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital immediately.

Just a few minutes after the first accident, another truck also ran into a passerby at that same location leading to the second loss of life. However, witnesses claim that FRSC officials, police officers, and fire service men cleared the scene immediately to return normalcy back to the road. After a few hours, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi  - the PRO of Oyo state police command later confirmed the two deaths to be valid and gave official reports to the press.

It seems like many parts of Nigeria are yet to begin implementing the COVID-19 lockdown directive because it should have restricted vehicular movements already in this part of Oyo state before this accident. Places like Lagos, Ogun, Abuja are already on lockdown and FG has even begun to fumigated public places to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

This is confirmed in a press video below;

RIP to the victims though.
