A certain truck driver in Oyo state will never forget Friday 21st of May 2021; the day he escaped death by a narrow chance when his vehicle plunged into a Shopping plaza in Ibadan. In fact, the truck did not only plunge into a plaza, it also crushed four vehicles that were parked within the premises of the Shopping complex.

According to media reports, this shocking incident occurred on Friday, May 21 along the Mokola-Ojoo road in Ibadan, Oyo state. Eyewitnesses narrated that the accident was caused by brake failure suffered by a truck as it was coming down from a certain hill that was directly opposite of ASE Shopping Complex in Ibadan. The eyewitness further explained that when the brake of the loaded truck failed, the driver forced the vehicle off the busy public road and headed for the fence of the ASE Shopping Complex.
The only “good” part of this incident was the fact that no human life was lost; however, when the truck plunged into the ASE Shopping complex, it landed on two busses and two saloon cars parked inside the premises. All of the four smaller vehicles were reportedly crushed by the truck but no life was lost and no one was injured during the crash. As a matter of fact, the truck driver also escaped death but only sustained a minor cut in his head.
