The truck driver of a construction company in Osun involved in a crash on the Ikirun-Osogbo road where six people lost their lives has been charged to court.
The 22-year-old driver identified as Muraina Taiwo appeared before a magistrate court in Osun State for being responsible for the death of six people whose names were given as, Olayiwola Shittu, Abdulfatai Azeez, Kolawole Precious, Suraji Abdulsalam, Oyesakin Surulere, and Alabi Sayo.

The prosecutor, Inspect. Akintunde Jacob told the court that the accused, on November 16, 2019, drove the truck with registration number, FST 597 XY without a truck heavy duty permit.
Naijauto also gathered from the prosecutor that the truck driver drove in a reckless manner on the road which killed the six persons around the Oshogbo steel rolling mill.
The offences were said to contravene the Road Transport Act, chapter 485 of the laws of Nigeria, under section 18 and 21.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the offenses. His counsel, Taiwo Awokunle applied for his bail.
Awokunle told the magistrate that the families of the deceased were not keen on pressing charges against the truck driver. The prosecuting magistrate, Opeyemi Badmus, granted Muraina bail in the sum of 500,000 with two sureties.
The case was adjourned until January 17, 2020
