According to a new traffic report, two people were killed in a fatal car crash that happened in Bauchi State last Sunday 28th of November, 2021. This incident was confirmed by Yusuf Abdullahi, who happens to be the sector commander of the state’s Federal Road Safety Corps. He added that six people also got injured.
FRSC officials were present at the scene to evacuate the bodies of the accident victims
Abdullahi disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the unfortunate incident involved a commercial bus with plate number GSH 42 AA along Bauchi-Kano road after Durum Market around 9:53 am. He stated that it took FRSC officials twelve minutes before they could get to the site of the accident and to also evacuate the victims. According to him, the accident was caused by a tire burst and speed violation. Eight persons, including five males and two females, were involved in the crash.
The sector commander said the bus driver has been identified as Ibrahim. He said the injured people have been rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi for treatment. The corpses of those that were killed in the crash had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for identification. Abdullahi urged motorists to refrain from reckless driving by adhering to the traffic rules and regulations when using the roads.
Meanwhile, this is yet another subtle reminder that speed violation has caused too many deaths on Nigerian roads. Many accidents caused by overspeeding usually lead to loss of life severe injuries inflicted on crash victims.
