Going on a tour outside the planet Earth has been a lifelong dream of so many people. While some dream about it, some make it happen. Here on Naijauto, we were to made to understand that Toyota is planning to go to the moon by co-developing a rover that will walk the surface of the moon. This means, with the support of the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), such dream is about to become a reality. This pressurized self-driving rover will step on the lunar surface in the next decade.
The moon rover will be a 6-wheeled transporter with size almost as big as two mini buses combined. In any case of emergency, it will comfortably convey 2-4 people for a about ten thousand kilometer with the aid of Toyota fuel cell technology and solar energy.
The carmaker is expected to finish their design by 2029.

In a statement released by the President of Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Hiroshima Yamakawa, he said:
Having Toyota join us in the challenge of international space exploration greatly strengthens our confidence. Manned rovers with pressurized cabins are an element that will play an important role in full-fledged exploration and use of the lunar surface”
“Through our joint studies going forward, we would like to put to use Toyota’s excellent technological abilities related to mobility, and we look forward to the acceleration of our technological studies for the realization of a manned, pressurized rover.
What else should we expect from the moon rover?
The moon rover that will be built by Toyota will come with 13 square meters of enough space to stay for a long period of time. This means that the astronauts will be able to come along with their bags and other needed items during exploration. This announcement came just two month after China emerged at the first country to land rover on the far side of the moon. The country is also panning on setting up a space solar power station.
