From a new traffic report reaching us, a shocking incident happened last Friday around 6 pm when a car travelling down interstate 93 southbound beside the Zakim Bridge in Boston flew off and landed on the ramp that links the Route 1 traffic from the Tobin Bridge to Interstate 93.
The Toyota 86 went airborne from Zakim Bridge in a horrific accident in Boston
The Massachusetts State Police revealed that the Toyota 86 model hit the guardrail on the 1-93 southbound, where it flipped and landed 25 feet below onto the Leverett Connector Ramp. This scary moment was captured by a camera, showing how the car went off the busy bridge. From what we learnt, the incident is currently under investigation by the police.

According to report, the driver behind this Toyota car is one 19-year-old man from Lynnfield, Massachusetts. He was found outside the car when the police arrived at the scene. The driver was later taken to the General Hospital close by for potential serious injuries. The police are still looking into what caused the accident and they haven’t provided any update yet on the condition of the driver.

Car goes airborne on I-93, lands on highway ramp
As a result of this frightening accident, the vehicle suffers massive damage, as shown in the footage. The authorities were later spotted at the scene where they removed the car from the road. As at the time, other vehicles plying the road were made to use the single lane since the other lane was closed from public access.
Information also reached us that similar accident took place on that Zakim Bridge 5 years ago. A pickup truck went off the bridge into a connecting ramp. That particular incident was said to be caused by driving under the influence.
