Have you ever imagined a car that is capable of being cracked open like an egg? Well, popular German high-performance carmaker, Porsche did exactly just that with one of its Taycan lab sample units. This lab test car is specifically designed in such a way that helps the automaker to effectively experiment with different ideas for the interior of its Taycan Cross Turismo EV model.
Meet the incredible Porsche Taycan sample EV that is capable of being split into two halves during test processes in the lab
When this sample EV is broken apart from its middle, what you get is separate but completely functional halves of the same car. The advantage of this innovation is that it gives car developers the opportunity to effectively test out different ideas for the interior design of the final car. The engineers can easily play around by adding, removing, adjusting and trying out several features on the inside of the test car at a very quick rate that requires less effort or cost.
This particular sample car seen in the above images is actually the development unit for the upcoming Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo EV model. Despite being a large wagon model, Porsche claims that it has to make sure the new model meets all of the standard interior space requirements, especially for passenger comfort.
