The Hummer H1 SUV was once the “talk of the town” in Nigeria as it definitely stole the hearts of the rich and famous back then. However, since its production got discontinued; no one heard of the SUV anymore until recently that an American auto startup company – Bollinger unveiled its all-electric B1 SUV and the B2 pickup truck that surprisingly has the shape of the Hummer H1.
Meet the new all-electric Hummer-styled Bollinger B1 SUV and Bollinger B2 pickup truck
Both the Bollinger B1 SUV and B2 pickup truck are production versions and fully electric off-road vehicles with a rugged all-wheel-drive system. These two off-roaders are presented to be readily capable of competing with other electric SUVs and pickup truck such as the Rivian R1S SUV, Rivian R1T truck and the all-electric Tesla Cybertruck.
Features of Bollinger B1 SUV and B2 pickup truck
The American startup automaker, Bollinger claims that the roof panels, doors, and glass on these two all-electric off-roaders are going to be easily removable just like the Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler-style. The company also stated that some optional add-ons will include heated seats and special roof all-glass panels.
The two Bollinger all-electric off-roaders share a striking resemblance to the Hummer H1 in shape and style
Both the B1 SUV and B2 pickup truck surprisingly have ten different 110V power outlets around their body and higher resistance to scratches with their aviation-grade carbon (Kevlar) underbelly.
The two Bollinger off-roaders come with an all-electric powertrain that outputs 614bhp and a huge 668 pound-feet of torque that is sufficient enough to take the truck and SUV from 0 to 60mph in just 4.5seconds and also at a 100mph top speed.
The enormous 120kWh Bollinger battery pack that comes with the two off-roaders are capable of going 200-miles on a single full charge or to simply put about 10hours stretch off-road.
According to official statements, this huge battery pack in that is fitted in the two Bollinger off-roaders can be refilled between 8 to 10hours using a Level 2 (240-V) charger while it will take just 75minutes using a Level 3 (commercial) DC charger.
The all-electric Bollinger B1 SUV and B2 pickup truck both have a 5201-lb payload capacity and 7500-lb towing capacity
The B2 pickup truck has a 5.9-inch bed length but is said to be capable of transporting 16ft cargoes through its parented full-length type of pass-through as shown in the images above.
As at the time of writing this report, Bollinger claims to have received over 30,000 expressions of people showing interest in these two all-electric off-roaders.
Bollinger B1 & B2: An electric work truck with serious power
According to Bollinger, both the B1 SUV and B2 pickup truck will carry a ₦45million ($125,000) starting price tag as full production is expected to begin by the year 2021.
