Two suspects who snatched a Lexus car in Lagos were arrested in faraway Anambra. They thought they had escaped but got busted by the police. Check it out!

Two suspected car thieves who stole a Lexus 330 vehicle at gun point from its Lagos-based owner in December last year have been arrested by the Anambra State police command.

The arrest was made known in a statement singed by the Spokesperson of the police, Haruna Mohammed, on Wednesday, October 20, 2019. According to him, police officials from the Awada division swung into action after receiving intelligence report. Their efforts led to the recovery of the Lexus 330 Jeep with registration number Reg No AKL 189 NH. The car was snatched from its owner, Anselm Enwereji, by armed gunmen in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos.

Mohammed stated that two individuals had been arrested for their involvement in the robbery, and information retrieved from them was useful in police investigations.

In line with police procedures, the Spokesperson disclosed that the matter would be transferred to the Ajangbadi Police Division in the Lagos, being the crime location. Investigations would continue at the division, and those found wanting would be persecuted, accordingly.

In a related development, Mohammed also revealed that another suspect was arrested after a stolen vehicle was found in his possession.

“At about 4:pm, following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Harbour Division recovered a Toyota Hiaice bus allegedly stolen at the premises of Osun State Board of Internal Revenue, Osun State.

“The bus which was formerly white in color has been repainted and registered with Onitsha South LGA of Anambra State.”

Mohammed expressed confidence that the case would be successfully investigated for persecution.
