Southwest governors procure vans and motorcycles for Operation Amotekun

This is expected to help curb insecurity in their zone.

Last year, insecurity in the country rose to the peak which saw the five governors from the South-West zone coming together to initiate a regional patrol project that will curb insecurity in their geopolitical zone.

The governors, during one of their meetings, jointly donated 100 vehicles to that cause as Naijauto reported then.

With the Operation Àmòtékùn regional security outfit awaiting launch, patrol vans and motorcycles have been procured and also set to be unveiled on the launch day.

Operation Amotekun will go a long way in improving the security architecture of the zone

The vans are a joint effort of the 5 Southwest governors

The region experienced unprecedented cases of kidnapping, killings, raping and other social vices that made the roads unsafe for travelers.

The governor of Oyo State, Mr.Seyi Makinde, said that the regional patrol project would go a long way in improving the security architecture of the Southwest zone.
