5 governors from the South-West zone have jointly donated 100 vehicles as part of their efforts to curb insecurity in their region.
The South-West Governors are about to commence a regional patrol as a way to curb insecurity in their geopolitical zones, with each of the state governor donating 20 patrol vehicles. So in total, the five state governors will be procuring 100 vehicles to that effect.

While disclosing this new plan, the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun stated that the combined patrol team called "Amotekun", will see to the security of all the South-Western regions.
Each of the states is required to donate at least 20 patrol vehicles, communication equipment and personnel to the task force. The personnel will be recruited from the police, army, vigilance groups and hunters.
Naijauto gathered that Ogun State will commence the registration of its residents for proper planning of the regional patrol.
Governor Abiodun also lamented over the communication system which he said, has hampered proper communication among security personnel in the state.

It is shameful that our security agencies do not have a communications system or equipment within the state, meaning that the Commissioner of Police cannot speak with his counterparts in the military, Department of State Services or worse still, he cannot speak with his Area commander, Divisional Police Officers of police stations across the state. Their vehicles are not functioning very well; no tracking devices, no enough finance
With the state government's security trust fund, the deficiencies will be corrected.
