There's been a protest in Umuokereke Ngwa, Obingwa LGA Abia State over the unlawful killing of a commercial motorcycle driven by a soldier.
Reports reaching Naijauto says the soldier who was at the Army checkpoint mounted at Ohanze Isiahia, Obingwa LGA allegedly shot a motorcycle rider named Chimaobi Uzuokwa Nwogu over his refusal to give the soldier the regular ₦100 bribe.
An eye witness who narrated the incident said, the dead motorcyclist refused to give the soldier the ₦100 bribe as demanded. And one of the soldiers chased Chimaobi on another bike. He tracked him in his village and shot him right in front of his house.

Chimaobi is reported to have a wife who's expecting to deliver soon.
Another eye witness said,
"We saw a soldier pursuing Chimaobi.
We were still wondering what might have happened when the soldier shot him and he fell from his motorcycle.
The soldier fled the scene immediately.
Now, Chimaobi’s wife is heavily pregnant and may soon put to bed. He left three children, who is going to take care of them?"
The youths of the community had gone on a rampage while taking the body of Chimaobi to the army checkpoint. They burnt the army checkpoint down even as the soldiers watched the incident.
It took the intervention of a convoy of army vans to bring calmness to the community while arresting some of the angry youths.
