This immediate closure of the popular market in the state came in light of the recent mob attack on the state’s Fire Service trucks on the 10th of August, 2020.

From what we learnt, the Abia State Fire Servicemen were too slow to respond to the incident of fire that occurred last Monday within the market. Upon their arrival at the scene of the fire, the people were annoyed to the extent of carrying out series of attacks on them, part of which was burning down their vehicles.
