One of Nigeria’s most popular truck manufacturing companies, Shacman, has recently announced that it has added two new fire truck models to its product range in a bid to boost its truck business in Nigeria. These two new models, namely Shacman L3000 and F2000, will expand the company’s existing lineup of vehicles that already includes lorry trucks, dump/tipper trucks, and tractor heads.

A few months back, we were happy to report about the Commercial electric vehicle launched in Nigeria by JuSt Commercial Vehicles Ltd, which is a welcome development in the local auto industry. This week it’s the Nigerian-based truck manufacturing company, Shacman that has probably figured out a need for more fire trucks in the local auto market. The company has now added 2 new fire truck models to its range of vehicles that will be assembled locally here in Nigeria and sold in the local auto market.
According to new press reports, these two new Shacman fire truck models will have the below upper-body configurations respectively:
- 10,000-Liters (2,000-liters of foam tank + 8,000-Liters water tank)
- 14,000-Liters (4,000-liters of foam tank + 10,000-Liters water tank)
The reports also state that these two new fire trucks will be equipped with a carbon steel plate of high quality and will also have anti-rust treatment on the inside. The trucks will also be able to rotate completely 360 degrees as well as have a 60m maximum water range and 55m of maximum foam range. Below are a few other revealed specifications:
- Suction depth ≥ 7m and suction time ≤ 35s
- 1.0Mpa Pump pressure with 60L/S and 48L/S flux of water & foam for fire-fighting
- 26m fire hose
- 360degrees (horizontal) rotation angle
- Maximum 10m sprinkler
The company also boasts the fire trucks will possess a lightweight, highly rigid suspension and body which will help more in fighting fire accidents that are now becoming rampant all over Nigeria.
