Mr. Tian Chao, who happens to be the General Manager of Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Import and Export Co. Ltd, paid a visit to Nigeria last week, meeting with its dealers, customers, distributors, and Transit Support Services of the SHACMAN brand in the country.

This company, Shaanxi Automobile, is the manufacturer of many heavy-duty trucks and medium-sized trucks that ply Nigerian roads.
This official visitation has given the GM a chance to evaluate the truck market in the country with a strengthened interest to increase the company’s investment in Nigeria. Tian also disclosed plans in partnership with Transit Support Services, to set up a Complete-Knock-Down (CKD) plant.

According to Transit Support Services (TSS), the new plan of this SHACMAN boss will aid the growth of the auto sector in the country. It will also foster the transfer of technological innovation between China and Nigeria.
From what we learned, the Shacman heavy-duty trucks are assembled by the TSS in Nigeria and have been utilizing MAN SE and Magna Steyr technologies. TSS is presently making use of the ANAMMCO assembly plant situated at Enugu for the assembly of these trucks.

The company held its massive opening ceremony for its assembly line 5 years back at the ANAMMCO assembly plant. Ever since, SHACMAN has manufactured more than 1,800 trucks from this factory.
