A new disturbing report has just reached us on the most recent event in the Port Harcourt city of Rivers State, where a commercial bus driver was stripped naked by police offers and have his car vandalized over an alleged refusal to give them bribe last Monday.

From what we learnt, the drivers plying the area have been complaining overtime towards a series of harassment by police officers and task officials. As a result, it was pandemonium as commercial drivers went on to protest against the latest harassment of Emenike.
Bestman Chile, who happens to be the Chairman of driver’s welfare, Choba Unit, revealed that one of the officers on duty asked Emenike to pay a certain amount of money as a bribe, but the bus driver refused. The police officer forced his way into the bus and asked Emenike to drive towards the police station.

Chile disclosed that the police struggled with the driver while hitting him with baton inside the vehicle. After a while, the driver halted the vehicle, which made other police officers to pound on the driver, where they ended up stripping him naked and also vandalizing his bus.
The Chairman stated that since they can’t fight against the police, they had to block the road until the police officers in question take care of the driver’s treatment and also pay for the damages inflicted on the vehicle.

The road blockage mounted led to traffic gridlock, as passengers were spotted walking long distances to reach their destinations. One of the officers identified as Mama G has been accused by the commercial drivers for her continued harassment and extortion of bus drivers.
Nnamdi Omoni, who is the spokesperson for state police command, while confirming the incident, stated that he had yet to bewareofoff the full details about the event.
