The Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning hereditary sovereigns in the world, and has been on the British throne for 67 years since 1958. There are always talks about the British royal family, not just about the Queen but her consort, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, her children, her grandchildren and their spouses.
Though the Queen and her family live the lives that are somewhat regimented and ordered by routines, it doesn’t stop them from being fun too. For instance, most are potty about cars like normal people. Her royal majesty loves her automobiles almost as much as her dogs, a fancy that is traceable to World War II, when the then Crown Princess Elizabeth worked in the British Royal Army as a truck mechanic.
There the Queen-to-be kicked started a preference for performance autos that have endured till this day. If you are curious about what cars the Queen packs in Buckingham palace as well as in her country estates garages, then you are in for an exciting read, courtesy of Naijauto.com: The Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family cars.
1. Land Rover Defender
If you thought you’d never be seeing this car after it stopped production, think again as this car is lying in the garage of the royal family. Land Rover stopped the production of this car in 2006, and from its first year of production, this car is now 70 years old! Many have ventured that this is a favorite of the Queen because it reminds her of the military trucks she worked on as a mechanic during World War II.

2. Rolls-Royce Phantom VI 1978
This was the same car Prince William rode his wife Kate Middleton in during their wedding in 2011. However, in 1977 when the Queen was celebrating her 25 year jubilee on the throne, this car was presented to her by Britain’s Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. Of course you’d be hard put to see this car on sale now but whenever the Queen rides the vintage vehicle, it’s always as fresh as when new as she has personally maintained it since.

4. Land Rover Series I 1953
The Queen might have been the luckiest to experience the Land Rover rides since it surfaced. King George VI, Queen Elizabeth's father, was given the 100th Series I truck as a present in 1948. She definitely enjoyed the ride behind the wheels of her father's Lander Rover but that was not enough. Five years afterwards, she bought her own the same car. These SUVs are regularly used to transport her and the family to royal events.

5. Rover P5B 1971
Athletic, stylish and luxury define this car. It was also easily one of the most rugged cars between 1958 and 1973. The Queen bought this car in its heydays when she was younger, and it was a royal favorite. This car is no longer in the royal garages but in the British Motor Museum on display for the British public.

6. Range Rover Landaulet 2015
So far most cars mentioned have been older models, and you can’t take this away from a 93-year-old lady. This does not mean the Queen is not in love with newer automobiles. The Range Rover Landaulet 2015 is one car that reminds us how much the Queen loves Range Rover. This car is a hybrid version of its model and it’s the same car she used to parade the streets of London during one of her interactions with the people.

7. Bentley State Limousine 2002
This 2002 Bentley limousine is not like any other Bentley car owners might own but is one personally custom designed for the Queen during her Golden Jubilee in 2002. This was built with her security and that of the royal family in mind. Thus, it’s more expensive than it looks. The vehicle was expanded in length, width and height and contains all safety features like bulletproof windows and blast resistance.
