President Muhammadu Buhari was in Lagos on April 24th, 2019 on a working visit to commission some projects in the state.
Among the projects lineup for commissioning were the 820 medium/high capacity transport buses – one of the numerous projects executed by the Lagos State Government. This is part of the reform initiative embarked on by the State Government to enhance the lives of residents. The President successfully commissioned the project as scheduled during his visit.
The incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, stated that the buses are on ground to create ease of transportation for people irrespective of tribe, age, gender or political affiliations. Everyone will be provided a comfortable and reliable means of movement around the commercial hub of Nigeria.

“The new 820 medium/high capacity Transport Buses is part of our Bus Reform Initiative aimed at making life better for all our people, irrespective of gender, tribe or political leanings by providing a more efficient & comfortable means of moving people around t/ state #PMBInLagos”

Other projects commissioned by the President on his visit to the state include:
- The rehabilitated 10-lane Oshodi – Muritala Muhammed International Airport Road
- The 170-Bed ‘Ayinke House’ (Maternity Hospital)) at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Ikeja
- The Lagos State Theatre at Oregun, Ikeja
- The multi-level Oshodi Transport Interchange along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway
