Naijauto is proud to announce that on Tuesday 3rd of December 2019, President Buhari successfully commissioned the first set of Made-in-Nigeria “Ezugwu” MRAP armoured vehicles at the 2019 Chief of Army Staff yearly conference.

These heavily fortified Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles are meant to be used for tough military operations in the North-Eastern part of the country where insurgents are terrorizing. The vehicles were all made in Kaduna state by the Defense Industrial Corporation of Nigeria.
During the commissioning ceremony of these armoured vehicles, President Muhammadu Buhari said;
“I am glad with the production of Ezugwu MRAP which I will unveil shortly with other infantry patrol vehicles that were earlier produced as testimony that our efforts are yielding positive results.
“There is no doubt that a lot has been achieved by the army since my assumption of office as the president and commander in chief of the Armed Forces,”

Features of the Made-in-Nigeria “Ezugwu” MRAP armoured vehicles
These newly commissioned vehicles are heavily fortified to withstand a 7kg TNT explosion and most small firearms. Each of the wheels of the vehicles is capable of withstanding 12kg TNT explosives.
These vehicles also come with 1 7.62mm Light Machine gun and one 12.7mm Anti-Aircraft gun. With these few armaments, the MRAP vehicles are already set for cleaning up the Boko Haram insurgents that are still terrorizing the Northern parts of Nigeria.
Apart from the MRAP armoured vehicles, the President also commissioned the Army Reference Ultra-Modern Hospital
