Several reports coming from the Aso Rock villa has confirmed that President Buhari’s official driver recently gave up the ghost at the Statehouse clinic following a long-term illness that he has been fighting for some time now. The news of his death has also been confirmed by Garba Shehu, the official spokesman for President Muhammadu Buhari.

The late Sa’idu Afaka is said to be a Master Warrant Officer and a very loyal aide to President Buhari when he was alive. He was highly honoured by the Presidential spokesman in the press statement which was used to convey the news of his demise. In the press statement, President Buhari described Sa’idu Afaka as a very reliable, capable and honest man who mostly handled his driving job with a great sense of responsibility and care. As a matter of fact, the press statement recounted how the late Sa’idu Afaka found a bag filled with hard currencies and literally returned it to appropriate authorities during a Hajj pilgrimage in 2016.

The press statement from the presidential office states that President Buhari condoles with the family and friends of Sa’idu Afaka as well as the entire Kaduna state for the loss of such a great man. On the flip side, there are many other press reports claiming that just a few days ago, the late Sa’idu Afaka was reportedly accused of tricking President Buhari to sign a “fraudulent” document. This rumour was specifically published by the popular Nigerian media outlet, SaharaReporters in an update that claimed that Sa’idu Afaka must have made a huge sum of gains using the so-called fraudulent document he made the president sign.
