Porsche is adding new equipment to the 911 Turbo S Exclusive by the launch of a new set of innovative lightweight wheels. The news alloys are designed specially in that they aren’t your regular rims. In fact, they are significantly different from aluminum alloy wheels. Porsche clarifies that the new and beautiful wheels are 20% more powerful and 20% lighter than typical rims.

Made from over 200 individual components, the combination is then braided together. In this step, the company uses the world’s biggest carbon fiber braiding machine (9 meters) to perform the task. The rim is then hardened at high temperature and high pressure before being cooled over a long cooling process.
The German car marque is the first car makers worldwide to create new rims made completely of CFRP.
