From the latest report reaching us here on Naijauto, a commercial motorcyclist and a police officer were killed in an area close to Etenyi village, Igumale, in Ado Local Government, Benue State on October 28.
A police officer and a motorcyclist were recently killed in Benue State by a group of armed men
One of the residents in the area identified as Joseph revealed that the village was invaded by these alleged gunmen around at 6.30 am. They ended up laying ambush long the Rijo-Ogege Bridge to Igumale route.
From what we learnt, the deceased policeman was on his way to work at Igunmale Divisional police station when he became a victim of this unfortunate ambush laid by the gunmen. The other victim, a motorcyclist, was riding towards the Otukpo area.

According to Joseph’s revelation, he was also on his way to Otukpo from Igunmale on the bike in order to visit his family when he heard gunshots at the time he was at Etenyi village. He decided to seek refuge in a safe spot. He disclosed that he later saw 2 corpses inside a van belonging to the police. To him, the incident that led to their death is yet unclear to anyone, since there is no crisis in the local government for more than 3 months.
Meanwhile, yet-to-be identified gunmen laid ambush on vehicles occupied by passengers who had just come off a train at the Rigasa railway station in Kaduna recently. Check out the video of the activities of gunmen in the North-western part of the country.

The incident was also confirmed by one James Oche, who happens to be the chairman of the council area. According to him, gunmen allegedly opened fire on the policemen, which led to the death of one officer and a passerby motorcyclist.
DSP Catherine Anene, who is the Benue State Police PRO, revealed that 2 dead bodies have been recovered from the scene of the crime and have been taken to the morgue while the investigation is ongoing.
